Having Surgery

They just wheeled Alyse back to surgery.  The surgeon came in and looked at her abdomen and omphalocele.  Her omphalocele has gone from being translucent and gray to opaque and green.  He said it is a sign of a perforated bowel.

The plan is to open an area in her abdominal wall, find the perforated area & take out whatever is necessary, put in a colostomy bag for now, and correct her omphalocele.

This is obviously very risky for a baby of her size, and she's not the most stable right now.
